For the opening of SMF8 we asked our longtime friend Douggpound to show us what mischief he and his friend are up to in LA.
Eric Wareheim (of "Tim & Eric") and Doug Lussenhop (DJ Douggpound) have curated a video program that is full of surprises: music videos, short films, video experiments and TV sneak peeks. Like a Gump-ian box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Except you know you're gonna get the Chicago premiere of Eric's new music video for Major Lazer/Diplo for "Pon De Floor" and a bunch of stuff you have never seen before. And you know it's not gonna suck, like Forrest Gump. It's gonna be fun,

20 minutes of new videos directed by Peter Glantz featuring the art of Kevin Hooyman, Jacob Ciocci (Paper Rad), and Ron Rege, Jr. (Highwater Books).
No More Forever
This 8 minute epic tale of two men sharing their song of Chief Joseph’s lyrics is set inside over 150 original drawings by Kevin Hooyman. All the magical creatures gather to listen and join in the song while the Lemurs record it all, edit, and broadcast the story from the moose’s horns across all the land.

Like A Prayer
Starring Becky Stark, this video reinterpretes the classic pop song as a psychadelic healing vision. Stark, performing the song as a depression era scamp, finds strength by sending her inner spirit on a journey from inside her heart to outer space and back again. Features art by Ron Rege, Jr. and Jacob Ciocci.
Music written by Madonna, performed by Lavender Diamond.
